Intellectual or humble?

Think Einstein or Think Newton. The natural association immediately is of a higher cognitive ability and intellectual quotient. Naturally, children and pre teens in the current age are taught to glorify and assimilate a higher intelligence quotient.

But did you know that behavioural tendencies play a part in making you smarter or less so?

Psychological tests have proven how traits like humility play a part in increasing your overall level of intelligence. Social skills have a part to play as well. For instance, in what is known as Dunning-Kruger effect, people with a sense of superiority over their own intellectual prowess have been proven to become less smarter with time. This is because this sense of illusory superiority prevents them from being open to learning new facts and skills as well as failing to recognize the flaws in their existing learning approaches.
